Robert (Bob) L. Ricker has thirty-three (33) years of experience in the insurance industry, holding leadership roles in both government and private sectors. Ricker is a noted expert on property catastrophe insurance issues — catastrophe modeling, pricing, underwriting, claims handling and other operational aspects of catastrophe-exposed property insurance. Previously, Ricker was the President of Focus Insurance Partners, LLC, a consulting firm that concentrated on assisting insurers and other firms successfully navigate the property catastrophe insurance marketplace.
Ricker was the President of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation during the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons — when the company handled over 300,000 hurricane claims. He was also the Chair of the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology.
Prior to this, Ricker was the head of the Florida Automobile JUA. He also led the formation of DeSoto Insurance Company and DeSoto Prime Insurance Company, Florida domestic property insurers which were wholly-owned subsidiaries of RenaissanceRe, the leading property catastrophe reinsurer in the world. Additionally, he held a management role in the Department of Insurance (now the OIR). Before joining the OIR, he was employed in a number of field-office and home office positions with leading insurance companies.
Ricker is an Honors Graduate of The College of Insurance in New York and holds the CPCU and ARM designations.
Craig Bissell, has spent nearly 30 years working in the insurance industry as a financial and reinsurance professional. Combining senior financial executive experience with reinsurance expertise and business development and planning skills, he has worked with insurance enterprises to improve results and sustain growth. He has held CFO/Treasurer positions with insurers and provided consulting services to banks, state insurance departments, and the SEC. In his previous work with Aon Benfield as a reinsurance broker, he also served as a firm-wide resource on Florida insurance regulatory, legislative, and market issues. Craig holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from Ohio University and the University of North Florida, respectively.
Kyle has more than 20 years of insurance experience overseeing portfolios with a magnitude of $10 million to $220 million. He joined EPIC after serving as Director of Underwriting at Florida Peninsula Insurance Company. Prior to that role he served as Chief Underwriting Officer at People’s Trust Insurance Company. His experience includes managing start-ups of standard and excess and surplus homeowners’ markets for Tower Hill Insurance Group and for Lloyds of London syndicates in the US. Kyle has also been involved with operations, underwriting, agent administration, regulatory compliance, budget projections, selection and negotiation with business partners, reinsurance, finance, marketing, claims and catastrophe modeling. Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
Joe Bouthillier is EPIC’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Joe has over fifteen years of experience in the Florida insurance industry and three years' experience in consulting. He has held various roles in both government and the private sector, including working for Coastal Insurance Underwriters, Citizens Property Insurance, Accenture Consulting and the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
Joe is a graduate of the Florida State University, College of Business MBA program.
Tim Cotton has over 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has successfully transformed his team’s productivity, increased efficiency and improved compliance. He recently served as the Vice President of Claims for Farm Family Insurance Companies and has held various leadership positions with The Main Street America Group and State Farm.
Tim earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He later obtained the CPCU, AIC, CIOP, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt professional designations. He is a CLM Fellow, a member of the ACE Advisory Board and former member of the Guidewire Customer Advisory Group and the Florida Bar 4th Circuit Grievance Committee. Tim has been interviewed for industry publications and presented at numerous industry events.
